No Cost for Early Intervention Evaluation

Concerned about costs? Medical diagnostic evaluations at CST Academy are fully covered through the Illinois Early Intervention (EI) program, making them available at no cost to eligible families. To qualify, you’ll need a referral from your EI service coordinator, and this program is available for children under age 3 in Illinois.

How to Access a Medical Diagnostic Evaluation Through EI

Navigating the Illinois Early Intervention (EI) program is simple with our step-by-step guide:

Obtain a Referral from Your EI Service Coordinator

Your EI Service Coordinator will guide you through the referral process and determine your child’s eligibility for a medical diagnostic evaluation.

Scheduling Your Child’s Evaluation

Once the referral is submitted, we’ll work with you to schedule an in-person evaluation at a time that fits your schedule.

Attend the In-Person Evaluation

Duration: Approximately 2-3 hours

During this visit, a licensed developmental-behavioral pediatrician and a multidisciplinary team—including specialists in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and developmental therapy—will conduct a comprehensive evaluation. Parents are encouraged to be present to offer support and provide additional insights.

Receive a Detailed Report & Recommendations

Within two weeks of the evaluation, you’ll receive a comprehensive report outlining findings, insights into your child’s development, and personalized recommendations for therapies and interventions. This report serves as a roadmap for your child’s next steps.
